Hello Dearest Friends and Internet,

UPDATE TIME!

Starting this Friday at 6:30 Eastern and 3:30 Pacific, I will be appearing on a brand new show on a brand new network: The Hub!! The Hub is a joint venture of Hasbro toys and Discovery Kids. It launched on 10-10-10 and has been broadcasting great new cartoons and classic 80s sitcoms into my living room ever since.  The show I am on is a magazine-style-clip show letting kids know what aired on the Hub that week, and what will be airing next week. It’s called HUBWORLD and it’s hosted by Justin Kredible, (the charismatic host of Cupcake Wars and magician extraordinaire).  Each week I’ll be preforming an original song about a different Hub series or what’s going on in pop culture news like Harry Potter, Taylor Swift, or maybe even about new legislation being passed by the house of representatives… oh there’s nothing to report?  I’ll be posting clips when we start airing but until then if you want to check out other Hub happenings with this link.

Thank you for watching and as always thank you for believing!

Dear Internet.

This past August I went on a truly mind blowing adventure and I thought I would tell you a little bit about it.  I spent three weeks on the other side of the world in Cambodia. The main reason for my trip was to take part in the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival, which was presented by the Cambodian Living Arts. CLA, as it is know to the students, has spent the last ten years finding and helping to support traditional Cambodian art forms, which were essentially whipped out by the Khmer Rouge in the mid-70s. The festival was a chance for these artists and their students to come together and share their progress and collaborate.

The festival was held in Phnom Penh at the Chaktomuk Theater on the Mekong River. Over the 5 days, I taught six classes in song writing. In my class, the students created an original work or the start of one.  Several of these songs were later preformed on the outside stage. It was incredible to work with such smart and engaged young people who are taking control of their lives. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with them now and hope that it is only the start to our collaborations.

After the festival I traveled to the coast of Thailand and then as far north as Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat. The three weeks flew by and by the second week I felt completely adjusted to the culture. Though I will say that by the time I had to leave I was ready to get back to LA and the life that I have here. Now that I’m home, I am already anticipating the opportunity to go back. However, this time I hope to share the adventure with others who don’t mind 25 hours of air travel.  Any takers?

I have posted some of my photos to facebook. If you’re interested, please take a look!

Hey Internet,

Here are the 5 new songs I wrote with the Wizardz of Oz. They just went up this weekend on the licensing site EXTREME MUSIC. Hopefully a music supervisor somewhere in Hollywood or anywhere for that matter is listening to them right now. The site is pretty amazing– the producers i worked with also created GIRLFRIEND POP (1 and 2) which you can listen to on the site. All of this music should be available on Itunes shortly…I’ll keep you posted.
